In 1972 after 30 years of service to the City of New York, Grandpa Pete retired from his post. Not being ready to "hang it up" he bought himself a Hot Dog Truck to keep busy. He parked his truck at Exit 56 of the Long Island Expressway and got to work. Soon after he began grilling up Philly Cheesesteaks along with the Hot Dogs. In no time the Cheesesteaks became the customer favorite and a family tradition was born. For almost 50 years his memory has been kept alive through the great flavor of Pete's Steaks. Cheesesteaks so will give us six stars!
